Desert
My landscape photography deals with the relationship between people and nature. One of my projects is about deserts and the role of man in it. Sometimes his role is in harmony with nature, at other times his role is in polluting nature. Sometimes he doesn't play any role.
I look for places where you can see traces of human presence. These photographs were made in the South West of the USA and the Middle East, but I have also worked in India, where I focused more on the people themselves.
An important characteristic of my pictures is the use of great contrast between light and dark. By not showing all the details, I make my photographs almost abstract. They were never made to be documentary, for me they are a personal expression of a rough and fascinating landscape that is slowly changing due to the influence of man.
